It’s not just a coincidence that I’m writing this on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day. I watched ‘Chhichhore’ on Sunday. A film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. He’s hit another masterstroke after ‘Dangal’.
A film that deals with a very important topic of ‘Students committing Suicide’, is handled really well. The film doesn’t become too serious at any point and its also entertaining at the same time.
Sushant Singh Rajput does complete justice to the Role of ‘Anni’ aka Anirudh Pathak, the Father of Raghav, a teenage boy who tries to commit suicide and ex-husband of Maya, portrayed by Shraddha Kapoor.
The film revolves around Pathak Family after Raghav is critical and is hospitalized. Anirudh calls his college gang ‘The Losers’ to tell his son his story and motivate him to move on and get better.
The film gives a very important message that ‘Suicide is never an option’. No matter how big the problems are in our lives, we shall face them with a positive attitude. We should focus more on the solutions. We will always have the people who love us by our side.
This World Suicide Prevention Day, let’s pledge to create awareness about the cause and talk more openly about depression and other mental health related issues.
