GOA is the number one tourist destination in India and is famous for its scenic beauty, beautiful beaches, tasty Sea-food, Churches and Temples.
The beaches in Goa are famous across the country; all are very different in its characters, shape, sand and scenery. Some of them are: Querim, Arambol, Mandrem, Morjim, Chapora, Vagator, Anjuna, Baga, Calngute, Candolim, Coco beach, Sinqurim, Miramar, Dona- Paula, Siridao, Bagmolo, Cansaulim, Majorda, Betalbatim, Colva, Cavellosim, Mobor, Betul, Agonda, Palolem, Butterfly beach, Patnem, Talpona, , Polem, etc.
Indian Tourists who visit Goa visit a very few beaches Viz. Calangute, Colva, Miramar,Vagator and Anuna as they are covered under Local Tours. However, the foreigners coming from European and other countries who are beach lovers visit many unexplored and peaceful beaches located away from Indian crowd.
In my opinion BENAULIM Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa. Whenever in Goa, I like to spend at least one full day at Benaulim Beach. It is at just 6 kms from Margao city and close to Colva Beach. Public Transport Buses drop you at Maria Hall located around 1.5 kms from the beach. You can walk down in 10 minutes from there to the beach. Autos, Taxis, Pilot Bikes are also available. This beach is rather unexplored beach. The number of foreigners here always outnumber Indian crowd. Many Water games like Boating, Banana Boats, Sky diving, Parachutes/balloons are available. You can take a long lovely walk in the company of your loved one very peacefully here. Coconut and Palm Trees add to the scenic view. For the people who love swimming, playing with tides or just bathing in the sea water, it is always a tranquil place to enjoy. I love floating in the sea water. There is no better pleasurable thing in the world than floating for me. You can enjoy floating at this scenic and calm beach for hours together. Beach side beds are available free of cost to rest if you have food in the beachside restaurants. You will find the European Tourists resting and enjoying in the tides throughout the year.
During our visit last fortnight, a Tourist from Holland was amazed to see our enjoyment at Benaulim Beach. He asked us “You do not have such beach near your place?” We replied, “Certainly not such a beautiful and pleasurable one”. When we put him the same question, his reply was “we have better beaches but not such beautiful Palms (cocoanut trees) surrounding them.” The scenic beauty must be experienced and appreciated in that spirit.
You can enjoy tranquil evenings, good food and take a round to the local market on the road near the beach. The place is famous for bull fights also. Church of St. John the Baptist and Mahalaxmi Temple around 1.5kms from the beach are added places of interest.
You should make a point to spend times at such beautiful beaches like Benaulim, in GOA.
