Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on behalf of the defence forces, has reportedly written a letter of appreciation to the actress for her support towards the Armed Forces Flag Day. Anushka along with co-star Shah Rukh Khan and director Aanand L Rai with whom she is working on the upcoming dwarf film had met the members of the Armed Forces to commemorate Armed Forces Flag Day in December.
Anushka Sharma, who was nominated as an ambassador for PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign, has lent her support to the cause by helping clean a beach in Mumbai. The actress took her social media handle to share a series of photographs which see her with a group of volunteers clean the Versova beach.
She shared the images with a note that read, “Our country is our mother and to keep our country clean is our duty. Every day we do things for ourselves, just a little bit of awareness and consciousness in keeping our surroundings clean will enable us to live in a healthy environment and we all know health is everything. Today I went on a cleanliness drive to Versova Beach with my friends and family and in reality, the pleasure I felt in cleaning the beach is indescribable”…
Earlier in December, Anushka along with a number of actors was invited by the Prime Minister to be a part of his government’s ‘Swachhata Hi Seva‘ initiative. Anushka Sharma is one of the most sought-after actresses in Bollywood and also quite particular about the roles she plays. So during a recent interview, when Anushka was asked whether she regretted the decision of rejecting ‘Tamasha,‘ she said that she hasn’t seen the film.
