We all aware of the so-called significance of Indian award shows. Most of these award shows are influenced by well-connected film-stars. Most of these awards are handed out to by organizers to please a certain set of actors or actresses. Rarely are awards in Bollywood given out to deserving actors or actresses who push the boundaries by trying out something different each time.

We are also used to seeing bizarre award categories being introduced each year in Indian award shows.  Categories such as Superstar of the Millennium or Best Global Actor in India are laugh-worthy. Once such new category that has compelled viewers to think about it endlessly is – the
‘Nothing to Hide’ award, introduced by Star Screen Awards.

The awards category is indeed weird by the sound of it and makes one ponder the reason behind introducing such a strange award. Also, it makes us think, what has one got to do to win this coveted and acclaimed award.

The winners of the first-ever Star Screen Nothing to Hide Award were none other than Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. Both the actors couldn’t hide their bewilderment and made it evident via their thank you speeches.

The good old folk – the Twitterati – took apart the strange award-category with their hilarious and over-the-top tweet. While on Twitter user claimed this is the reason why Aliens don’t visit our Planet, other smart Alec commented via Twitter that Star Screen deserves the title of ‘The Good for Nothing Award’ show.

Looks like it is time, we stop having such meaningless categories and award shows in our country. We would like to hear your views on the same, in the comment section below… #BeFearless #VoiceyourOpinion
