If it wasn’t Govinda, 90s Bollywood would have been completely different. The entertainer, who carried the eventual swag, was the king of comedy in the 90s. He also had the mystery to set the screens on fire with his flawless acting and dancing. Even the melodramas he did, showed why he is not just restricted to comedies. A huge kind of stuff which he did way back then, can never be recreated onscreen today. Govinda has always been the ultimate definition of ‘desi’.

In his career, Govinda also made several memorable pairs such as with Karishma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon and David Dhawan. Let’s check out some of his amazing Bollywood pairs.

Govinda and David Dhawan: David Dhawan’s aptitude being comedy and Govinda having an incredible sense of humour, both of them seem like a natural pair. They did as many as 17 movies altogether. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Partner were among the blockbusters.

Govinda and Karishma Kapoor: They are one of the all-time great actor pairs of actors in the Bollywood history. The duo acted in as many as 10 successful movies together. Raja Babu, Coolie No 1, Hero No 1 and Haseena Maan Jaayegi were hard hitting.

Govinda and Raveena Tandon: Both the superstars have done more than 9 movies together. Aunty No 1, Dulhe Raja was the incredible ones.

He ruled an entire decade, for instance, 1994 when he had 8 releases and one guest appearance. Govinda has made more news for wrong reasons in the past year, majorly for his standoff with David Dhawan, the man instrumental in making Govinda – the Hero No 1! Be it the lyrics of his songs or the dialogues which he delivered in his films, Govinda had the typical writers around him, appropriately matching with his style.

Govinda has set a trademark on a lot of things and Bollywood is obligated to him for being such a marvellous entertainer for decades. Here’s wishing the superstar, a very happy birthday!
