The world’s most horrific crimes are currently being committed against the Rohingyas in Mynamar.

Reports of forced starvation, mass genocide are coming out from Mynamar.

Amidst the reports of mass-suffering, Narendra Modi paid a visit to Mynamar a few days back. In this visit, Narendra Modi stressed on the issue of illegal immigrants of Rohingya living in India.

If you have been following the news, you might have noticed that the Government of India has taken the decision of deporting over 40,000 of illegal Rohinyas living illegally in India.

India has always been kind to refugees:

India has always been a tolerant nation. The Congress and the BJP Government, in the past, have always allowed refugees to thrive in our nation. Especially refugees, who have been displaced by floods or natural calamities.

To quote a few examples: Tibetians and Bangaldeshi illegal immigrants have all been living in India since many years. India has never even mentioned about the deportation of these immigrants as a major chunk forms a vital part of the vote-bank. Moreover, 1 lakh of Tibetians still find permanent asylum in Tamil Nadu.

In 2016, the Modi-led BJP govt. Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan to buy property for self-living, obtain driving licences, receive PAN and Aadhaar IDs, etc.

So the question arises, why is the Government biased towards the Rohingya-Muslims?

Following can be some reasons which have contributed to the deportation decision of the Rohingyas from India:

  1. Handling Rohingyas has proved to be a massive challenge to the Indian Govt.
  2. Some have posed a threat to law and order situation in India
  3. India has already faced a lot due to the influx of illegal immigrants
  4. Indian locals have complained about these refugees living in their vicinity

The Indian Government has decided to deport these Rohingyas to Bangladesh. It is to be seen the number of refugees the Bangladesh Govt. will be willing to be accepting.

All said and done, we do hope the crisis is resolved soon. We would love to hear your unbiased views on the issue of Rohingyas living in India.
