Arvind Kejriwal has proved to the flop-shows when it comes to upcoming politicians with great potential. He failed to stay true to his promises made prior to the Assembly elections.

However, it seems like Arvindji has finally become a better leader and Chief Minister with time. In a recent development, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has requested land-owning agencies to halt demolishing of jhuggis until the end of winter.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently organized a meeting with this regard with officials from the Delhi Improvement Board and 3 more corporations of Delhi. The meeting was held to discuss the Slum policy.

Kejriwal has requested all the relevant boards to ‘Do not demolish Jhuggis until the end of winter.’ He went on further to state that, ‘It is very cold at the moment and we need to take a humanitarian approach.’ ‘We also need to follow the protocol when it comes to the demolition of jhuggis both in spirit and letter.’ Hence, as per Kejriwal’s orders, no demolition work will be followed immediately without adhering to the protocol. Moreover, he stressed that proper relocation and rehabilitation of slums should be done before abolishing them.

Irrespective of his political journey so far, this seems to be the first genuinely logical step undertaken by Chief Minister Kejriwal. It seems to be the first-ever time when a politician has looked after the welfare of the poor and downtrodden before abolishing their slums.

You like him or not; Kejriwal truly deserves an applause for this sensitive step.
