“Why do we fall, Sir? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up.”

-Alfred Pennyworth to Bruce Wayne

The reason behind quoting this famous dialogue is what happened in Birmingham last night. Supporting Indian Cricket team during the world cup is the national duty of every Indian citizen. When you support a team, no matter the result you stand by your team.

Yesterday wasn’t the case particularly. A lot of Indians were heard booing the team’s performance in the 2nd innings. Pakistan supporters went on the heights of accusing Indian team of ‘fixing’ the match. M S Dhoni’s partnership with Kedar Jadhav raised a lot of eyebrows. Sourav Ganguly lashed out at them questioning their intent to win. Some even blamed the saffron colored jersey for that matter!

To put things into perspective, India was the only unbeaten team left in the world cup. England had to win the match or they were out of the world cup, on their home soil. After the final ball was bowled in the tie it was evident that the team who played better, had won.

Only good thing to result from this defeat is it decreases Pakistan’s probability to go through to Semifinals. It was a small setback. Now Kohli and co. should focus on match vs Bangladesh and move on.

We believe that everything happens for a reason and it was the reality check our team needed.

“Failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.”

– Winston Churchill
