They say the world goes around because of the good folk that are still around. This saying might ring true in today’s world, thanks to people like Saroj Sahu.
Jagatpur, Odisha’s Saroj Sahu is an example of ‘few good men’ as he proposed to his friend (Acid attack victim) Saroj Sahu. Saroj Sahu suffered 80 percent burn injuries back in 2009 when a spurned lover threw acid on her. The acid attack not only caused grievous burns but also resulted in loss of eyesight.
On Sahu’s insistence Pramodini underwent treatment for her loss of vision. Gradually, Pramodini regained 20 percent of her vision. Sahu helped Pramodini immensely during her treatment and in the bargain also realized that he is deeply in love with Pramodini.
One thing led to another and Sahu finally proposed to Pramodini. She finally said yes despite of Pramodini’s apprehensions regarding a normal family life were dispelled by Sahu who confessed his true love for her.
The duo finally took the first step towards a life-together yesterday on occasion of Valentine’s Day as they got engaged surrounded by family & friends.
We are sure, this is one couple, which even the Bajrang Dal will support with open arms.
We wish Pramodini and Saroj all the best for their future and hope that more people would stand up for true love despite of challenges and obstacles.
