“Never tell the truth to people who are not worthy of it.” ― Mark Twain
Bollywood has been riding on the wave of Biopics in the recent past. Most controversial film which is nearing the release is ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. It is based on the book of the same name, written by Sanjaya Baru, Political Commentator and Policy Analyst. He served as Media Advisor and Chief Spokesperson to PM Manmohan Singh for over 4 years.
When the poster of the film was released months ago, everyone knew well that it was destined to stir controversy. After trending on #1 and being viewed by more than 37 Million views, it is now vanished. Even Anupam Kher couldn’t find it on YouTube.
Reports say that a case has been filed in Muzaffarpur court against Anupam Kher, Akshaye Khanna and 14 others including the producers and director of the film. Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha, who has filed the case is infamous for suing over 480 people including Sonia Gandhi and Amitabh Bachchan.
After the Censor Board approving the release of the trailer, why is this happening? Where’s freedom of expression has gone now? I know everyone is having popcorn in their hands while this Saga unfolds. One thing is for sure that all of this is not “Accidental”!
