In the last week we read about the ailing Boxing legend – Kaur Singh – who is unable to meet his medical expenses. Kaur Singh is the same boxing superstar who had faced Muhammad Ali in middle of the ring, earning him the rare distinction of being the first and only Indian to have faced the legend and survived to tell the tale.
Sadly, the legend is now in a critical condition and now unable to fund his own medical fees for his cardiac treatment. The Asian Games Gold Medallist, in the past, had requested the Badals for contribution as his meagre Pension amount cannot fund his medical fees.
Moved by Kaur Singh’s ailing-rale, recently, Rajyavardhan Rathore had donated 5 lakhs to fund his treatment. Now, Bollywood Superstar King Khan too has donated generously to help the sick-boxing legend.
It seems like Kaur Singh’s story has managed to move the Bollywood star as now he has also pledged his support via his KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) Foundation. SRK was reported as saying to the media, ‘It is our duty to look after sportsperson in our country as they bring immense pride to our nation.’ ‘We need to stand by our sporting heroes.’
He added that he is not only passionate about cricket but also cares equally for other sports as well. Kaur Singh, on the other end, was ecstatic on receiving the funding and has thanked everyone for the overwhelming support.
We sincerely wish more noble-hearted people like SRK come forward and donate generously to take care of our sporting heroes. Respect to everyone who helped our Boxing legend in dire times.
