I am an ardent believer of the adage, Travel unravels your soul. So, being a globetrotter how could I miss this most sought of travel destination and crown jewel of southern India?

The opportunity to travel to Kerala came to me in the beginning of June this year, as it was our second wedding anniversary. I had an ideal partner and the ideal destination. Besides, monsoon is the best time to travel to Kerala as the the hill stations looks misty and luscious green during that time, and you forget your technological savior, the air conditioner.

Our plan to travel to Kerala was to unwind and get the much needed breather from the monotony of daily life. Nestled between the pristine waters of the Arabian sea on the west and the lush Western Ghat mountains on the east, we were encapsulated by the colossal beauty of Kerala just with the glimpses of the paradise city from our plane and instantly fell in love with it.

I truly believe are the perfect time to travel to Kerala as In our 4 day trip we made it a point to cover the major tourist. From tranquil stretches of emerald backwaters, long shoreline of marine beaches, Chinese fishing nets, fresh spices, widespread tea plantations, thick forests and exotic wildlife, we experienced the quintessential Kerala to its fullest.

Munnar – The tea plantation heaven

Kochi – Fishing nets and the quant city

Alleypey backwaters – Experience the joy of homestays & houseboats

Eravikulam National Park – Beauty and the beast!

Wayanad – Captivating with its scintillating waterfalls

Kumarakom – Gem amongst all the monsoon destinations in Kerala

Thekaddy – Where the forest comes alive in monsoon

Those few days were pure bliss and I still get a sense of serenity reminiscing those memories. Lastly, the locals there are a force to reckon with, apart from having highest literacy rate in India, Keralites are a bunch of amiable people under the garb of a tough exterior and will truly inspire you to live life to the fullest and leave your worries to GOD 🙂
