After being embroiled in controversy for long, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat finally hit the theatres on January 25. While all three actors have earned tremendous praise for their acts in the film, it is Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of barbaric ruler Alauddin Khilji that has earned maximum applauds.
Now praising Ranveer’s fabulous performance in his latest release Padmaavat, megastar Amitabh Bachchan sent a handwritten note to Ranveer. Overwhelmed by Big B’s kind gesture. The legendary actor sent Ranveer a beautiful bouquet in praise of his wonderful performance in Padmaavat. An ecstatic Ranveer posted a photo of the bouquet and the signed card from Bachchan on Twitter. He captioned it, “Mujhe mera award mil gaya @srbachchan” and added emojis for thanks and smiling face with a halo.
Ranveer is a huge fan of Senior Bachhan and has often confessed his love and respect for Bachchan. Amitabh, on the other hand, sends across personal notes of appreciation to actors when he is impressed with their work. In the past, he has sent notes to Kangana Ranaut for Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015), Sushant Singh Rajput for MS Dhoni The Untold Story and Deepika Padukone for Ram Leela Goliyon Ki Raasleela.
Ranveer said, “I’m happy that the audiences are seeing and loving a character that both Sanjay sir and I have worked on tirelessly for over two years to bring to life. I took a big risk with this character and it’s wonderful to see my gamble pay off. This kind of validation gives one the confidence to take bigger and bigger risks, challenge stereotypes and continue to push the envelope in the realm of mainstream Hindi cinema. I feel very happy and very fulfilled today.”
