Shabana Azmi, after prolonged silence on the Rohit Sardana issue, is back with her ‘Deepika Bachao Drama’

Just when I thought the thrust Padmavati row had died down, the dead horse was beaten and revived again – all thanks to Shabana Azmi, the matron of pseudo-liberals.

The same Shabana Azmi who together with her husband took to the streets holding “Not in My Name” placards, insinuating Hindus had lynched a Muslim youth for carrying beef. For those who followed the story through and through would know that the turn of events unravelled themselves in a totally different light rendering the drama enacted by Shabana and her half-wit liberals a laughable travesty. Just to be on the safer side, the husband distances himself from his original faith, calls himself an atheist. Oh well, if only his deeds didn’t expose his hypocrisy. They refused to condemn the other side of violence when a 25-year-old Hindu man was stabbed to death by six Muslims in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden. Her ‘Not in my name’ herd too kept busy grazing their fresh fodder.

Thanks to the herd of Pseudo-liberals led by Shabana, every time a Muslim sneeze, it makes it to the headlines– but only if he caught a cold from a Hindu. Last week a Muslim family in Agra was harassed by their own community for singing Vandemataram. The children were rusticated from school. I longed a reaction from the actress willing travel to the core of planet earth rooting for Freedom of Expression, but all I heard were loud snores of peaceful slumber.

The Padmavati row now serves as a kadak cup of chai to wake her up. She summoned the industry to boycott the 48th International Film Festival of India 2017 but was reminded in the most brutal way that Bollywood is not her sheep. Now that the Goa fest was attended by the Shah Rukhs and Raj Kumar Rao of Bollywood, Shabana Azmi designs a new Drama – “Deepika Bachao.” True that many from the fraternity came out in support of Deepika, which was certainly the absolute thing to do, Shabana’s extra interest in the movie– Ahem * Begani Shaadi Mein Abdulla Deewana *Ahem – however, is just another of her attempt to start a scuffle with the center. She cries for creative independence and tweets, Sabki dukaan chal rahi hai under the patronage not of the fringe but of the Govt in power. Film industry must stand as 1 with #Padmavati.”

Mohtarma, A R Rehman ko jab Fatwa mila tha, tab kiski dukaan se biryani mangwa rahi thi aap,? Kahan gaye they aapke hashtags?

We have not forgotten how “diplomatically” you glossed over while responding to these Fatwas. What we don’t remember is you jumping about abusing the Fatwa issuing fringe groups or thrashing the government for not confining them.

All props to Kangana Ranaut for refusing to join the tomfoolery that is “Deepika Bachao”. The actress is as safe as ever; those instigating violence have resigned and the dead body found at the Nahargarh Fort with the messages scribbled nearby (Hum putlay nahin latkaate, Har kafir ka yah haal hoga  Allah Ke Bande, Hum Mein Hai Dum) evinces that it’s not the Karni Sena plotting violence but clearly those who stand on the other side of the line. She has presented an opportunity to cheer for “Freedom of Expression” when a certain community threatened Rohit Sardana with dire consequences and vandalized his office, but silently crawled back into her abandoned burkha – shit scared, lest she lost a head speaking against her own people. Truth be told, Shabana Azmi gives no flying f**k to FoE. She scours the internet to find an odd incident that could be leveraged to defame the government she hates from the bottom of her guts. She is winding the Padmavati fire not because her heart shatters for Deepika but to satisfy her own agenda. We are not your sheep, Shabana, go fool someone else.
