Is there any woman who hasn’t been molested, assaulted or sexually harassed? Every woman, at some point in her life – mostly in childhood – has gone through the trauma. Not only has the world outside us seemed cruel, our homes and workplaces, for that matter, are unsafe. It’s an unfortunate, disgusting, but it’s the bitter truth.
A campaign initiated by Hollywood actresses to raise their voice against sexual misconduct, #MeeToo campaign, where several women from across the countries exposed their hearts on several instances they have been through. Actress-VJ Shruti Seth tweeted that, “It will take at least 50 years for the victims of sexual harassment in Bollywood to speak the truth”.
Shruti Seth has now become a lost name in showbiz but the ‘Shararat’, the actress is known well how to cause a chaos among the masses with her well-thought statements. After several years of trying a hand in Bollywood, she was never able to prove her boldness in Hindi Film industry. Several speculations regarding the declined career of the talented actress were made but her latest tweet has given several hints at the real reason.
Her question has compelled the VIP’s of India’s male-dominant film industry to wonder why the original talent of our nation still feels so unprotected and insecure. Priyanka Chopra also agreed to this term that not just Hollywood but Bollywood also has many Harvey Weinstein. Several Bollywood divas like Tisca Chopra, Radhika Apte, and Kalki Koechlin have spoken about sexual harassment. Earlier, approximately 300 actresses, directors, and writers have launched a project to help fight sexual harassment in the film industry and other workplaces.
Shruti has never escaped away from raising her voice against the progress she doesn’t agree to. But, who are we afraid of? The power that can put an end to our career? Or we can live happily with the scars on our souls?
