This Step of Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu Can Be A Game Changer For Indian Railways…

The NDA government is all for development and progress. Progressive thinking is the essence of growth and development for any country. In any country the course of development starts by bettering the infrastructure. The youngest state of India, Telangana, requires many infra boosting schemes to achieve growth. Connectivity to an airport should be convenient by public transport with better frequency.

With increasing population the need for better rail services and public transport is imminent. If the underground rail network plans to provide direct connectivity to the airport then the railways should draw huge numbers of passengers. It could prove to be a win-win situation for Indian Railways.

The Indian Railways has decided to explore the possibility of providing train connectivity to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad in Hyderabad from Umdanagar near Hyderabad through an underground network.

Announcing this on Monday, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said feasibility study of the project will be assigned to Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES).

The Indian Railways can expect huge spike in their revenues once the rail services start and if the project turns out to be a success then such similar projects could be replicated in other states too.

Extension of Multi Modal Transport System (MMTS or suburban network) connectivity to Shamshabad Airport from Umdanagar (on city’s outskirts) through underground connectivity can it be taken up, Mr Prabhu said.

He also added, “Telangana is the youngest state of the country and there is a need to provide it more help. As announced in this year’s Rail Budget, Railways will set up two new world-class greenfield terminals at Cherlapalli and Nagulapalli in Hyderabad in a time-bound manner with cooperation of the state government.”

The Centre is working hand in hand with the States for progress of the nation under the slogan ‘Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas’ (together with all, development for all). Promises were earlier made, so that they can be forgotten or broken later.

Fortunately, this was the case in the past, where the politicians would rally during elections with their list of promises; nowhere to be found later winning the elections. Now, with NDA at the centre and Modi as their leader, things have changed. What has been promised during the “Lok Sabha” polls is being fulfilled.
