Upset Trinamool Congress activists assaulted the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in Kolkata following the arrest of ruling TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay regarding the Rs 15,000 crore Rose Valley ponzi scam.
The activity by the TMC students wing came not long after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee call the arrest of Bandyopadhyay as ‘vendetta politics’ by the Center and announced nationwide protests against the government’s ‘vindictive attitude’.
The Trinamool supporters yelled slogans and obstructed the doorways of the BJP office. A couple BJP workers bled from the head as they addressed the media.
A few cars parked in the back street prompting to the office were vandalised and stones were pelted at the building. Activists from both the parties additionally got an entangled fight at the site. Police, though, raced to the BJP office when they learnt about the occurrence.
The BJP workers present in the party office amid the affirmed assault said the attack was “pre-planned and unprovoked”. The party said 15 of its activists were harmed. A couple bled from the head as they addressed the media.
