Just when Mumbai was getting over the disastrous Elphinstone Station tragedy, calamity struck Mumbai once again as 14 people were killed due to a fire at a popular resto-pub in Mumbai – London Taxi.
The building which houses one of the most popular corporate houses of the country. What was supposed to be a night of revelry turned in to a tragic night for all those present there. The incident once again highlights the lax infrastructure-facilities in commercial establishments in India’s largest metropolitan cities.
The stories and images that emerged out of the carnage are indeed heartbreaking and shocking. Indeed a sad situation that a tragedy of such proportions struck a few days before the New Year.
A high-level probe has now been initiated to uncover the cause behind the fire.
