Forced to work for 18-hours straight without food and water are some of the things that we associate with slavery. But, this is something which has occurred in recent times in one of the most popular industries of India – the Television industry.
The lead pair of Aisi Deewangi, Dekhi Nahi Kahi – Jyoti Sharma and Pranav Mishra have quit from the show due to inhuman treatment meted out to them by the show’s makers. The lead-couple have approached CINTAA – the Cine and TV Artists Association and filed a complaint with this regard.
As per the lead pair, they were forced to work extended hours without food, water or even tea. Moreover, the lead actress wasn’t even offered a drop home while working graveyard shifts.
Their ordeal doesn’t end here. Jyoti had once badly hurt herself when she had to perform a stunt on her own without any safety measures in place. On other occasion, a fire sequence was filmed in a claustrophobic room without no exhaust for smoke-outlet.
Jyoti was left puking without the aid of a doctor for hours, post the shoot. The show’s makers ordered Jyoti to report to shoot the very next day post her hospitalization.
Such inhumane treatment is certainly unheard of in today’s times.
We would certainly love to hear your views about this incident in the comment section below. Post your opinion right away! #BeFearless
